new n'stuff
So.... obviously I want to loose weight. I'm "pudgy"... so someone who hasn't seen me in 4 years has told me... hehe
I have a goal of 145-150lbs at the most, the very most, but would like to be at 130lbs (like I was 4 years ago)! I honestly don't feel comfortable saying what I weight now, it's not bad, but I'm just self concious.
I joined a gym and am so far going at least every other day. I'm trying to motivate myself to go each day though, it's easiest to go after work, in the mornings (I get off at 8:30am).
Anyways... my biggest problem is I'm a HUGE fan of food, and I eat when I'm bored. My solution to this problem, is to be more active and not get bored. Also NO MORE VENDING MACHINE LUNCHES AT WORK!

So how is everyone doing? It has been awhile since someone posted. SO yeah, update!

I've lost 40 lbs, 20 to go and I am at my ideal weight.

I'm on my third week of the G.I. Diet and it's going great except I'm a little tired of all the cooking I have to do as I'm a busy college mum. My scales broke (NOT through over use!)so I don't know how much weight I have lost but I feel great and my jeans aren't as tight so something is happening.

Today I went to McDonalds to treat my daughter, this is a rare treat as we haven't been for five months. I had a Big Mac and fries and before I'd even finished the thing I was bloated and uncomfortable, it was amazing how quickly I felt terrible! Never ever doing THAT again!

Update
Well, Im a year and almost 3 months post op. Although Ive been getting smaller, the number on the scale wont budge. Its kinda frustrating because my clothes keep getting bigger but theres nothing for me to see on the scale.

Ive noticed that the excess skin is shrinking some. Gross, I know. I know it will never be completely gone, but its a small price to pay. Doesnt help with the body image issues swimming in my head, but that will get better with time.

Eating much better now. I rarely get sick. Keeping vitamins down, my hair stopped falling out and is growing again.


A typical day has a lot of protein in it. Ive been eating a lot of fruit though. Now that I can tolerate it, im constantly munching on fruit. Pomagranates are my fav right now. Pain in the ass to eat, but worth the effort. Honeydew is next and manderine oranges. I had a blood orange the other day. Very yummy.

Anyway, Im rambling. Gotta go to work;)

Well, the G.I. diet is in full swing, am eating five portions of veg and fruit a day, the kitchen cupboards are full of tinned beans and soup. I'm following the recommendation of eating all the time which I am doing, and I never feel hungry or deprived, until today in college when I sat with my friend for lunch and watched her eat her crappy white bread sandwich with cheap supermarket ham and margarine - it looked soooo good! Which is weird because I never ate any of that stuff before the diet anyway!

Been a bit of a naughty girl on the smoking front too as I've been having a couple of 'crafty ones' in the evening once Faith's in bed. Haven't had one today though so a definite improvement.

Hi, I am joining this community as I'm preparing to start the G.I. Diet tomorrow as I have two stone to lose since having a baby - 'baby' is now three years old! My motivation is my father in law dying suddenly of a heart attack and my friend getting married in Las Vegas in the summer - I want to look good in a bikini!! Oh, and I'm quitting smoking too.

This community has been inactive as of late, so what has everyone been up to?
I am trying to add more interests to the community as well, to help draw people to this community so we can increase the support amongst ourslves. If anyone knows of people who would like a community like this, please let them know.

Gyms?
Anyone have any suggestions for gyms?
What were looking for is a place to just work out - running machines, weights, etc. Nothing like the YMCA, no pool, or basketball court is needed. Just a place to use all the machines.

We find that Goodlife is too expensive, and are looking for different options. Anyone have some ideas?

Today was kinda a binge day for me....I was gonna save my binge day for saturdays...but when i got to work today the kids were having a picnic in the gym...and a parent made cupcakes for everyone to celebrate the summer birthdays since there is only 4 days of school left...and well normally the parents make enough for the kids and thats it but today there was enough for the eduators...and how does one say no to a cupcake...a chocolate one at that!?!

How was your day?
Mine sucked. I didnt bother to exercise because I was miserable.
See, because of my surgery, I cant drink anything for 30 min after eating. Otherwise I get sick because the liquids try to force the solids
through. Well, I forgot I ate and had a big drink of milk.

Once I get sick, I usually dont bother to attempt anything else because the pouch is irritated. I managed 3 bites of a baked potato from Wendy's, a medium T.H. coffee and Im going to try a shake before bed.

I didnt exercise but I was running around at work for 5 hours.

Anyway, how did ya's do?

Found my skinny pants today!
Hello everyone!
I haven't really been active on this community lately. It's nice to see all the great posts.
I found my skinny pants today (the pants I wore a year ago before I started eating again and put on a lot of weight). I guess it just opened my eyes to what I could look like again. I mean I look in the mirror now and I don't look bad, well I don't think so, but I don't know what other people see when they see me. I guess I'm pretty superficial right now wanting to look better when I should just be trying to become healthier. I've been trying to exercise, walking all over the place. My bike though is sitting and collecting dust on the balcony. I would cycle but bolingas yells at anyone riding on the sidewalk and I'm too afraid to ride on the road so that's out. The warm weather makes it difficult period, I'm having a hard time finding the energy to move let alone exercise. I've been trying to drink more water now though, which I think is good. I think I can guarantee 4 cups a day but 8 cups seems impossible at this point. Hope everyone else is having better luck at this than me :)

Im no stranger to weight struggles. It was a fight for many years. 7 months ago I had gastric bypass surgery. Im down about 120lbs. Its the best thing Ive done in my life, but also the hardest.

Hi my name is Amy, i'm new to the community..

I find it awesome that there are communities out there to help people with weight problems...

I've gained about 10 pounds in the past year and it just won't go away...I'm eating healthier..I play frisbee almost everyday with the kids I work with...I work out at the gym every 2 days...and go for a swim right after I work out and for some reason I feel like i'm just getting bigger and bigger...I haven't lost any weight at all...

any suggestions?
